Here at Perfect Paws Rescue, our goal is to successfully find forever homes for as many pets as we possibly can. But, we want to make sure that all our pets are adopted to families and homes that are suitable for them in every way, to ensure the safety, comfort and happiness of the pet and ascertain as best as we can that the home we find for each pet will indeed be a permanent home for them.

To that end we developed a very thorough Adoption Application Form for each potential adoptor to fill out. All of the information we ask for on our adoption application is necessary for us to obtain so we can properly assess the potential adoptor, their home and their family so we can determine if they would indeed offer a suitable environment for pet and if so, if that environment would be a good match with the pet they have selected.

For example, if the applicant already has big dog that is agressive with other dogs but loves cats, it would be best for them to adopt a cat instead of a small breed dog. Or if the applicant has a number of small children, and has chosen a small breed dog that is frightened by the quick movements and loudness of children and may nip at them, then we would have to decline that adoption, but would be glad to suggest other small breed dogs we have in residence that adore children of all ages. Or if the applicant is out of the home much of the time, and we know that the small breed dog they have chosen acts out and behaves badly when left alone for too long, we would have to deny that adoption, and would help them select another small breed dog that would not mind enjoying alone time - or perhaps even a suggest they adopt a kitten or cat instead.

So while our form may seem lengthy and complex, it is designed in a manner so that we can be certain, to the best of our ability, that the adoption will be a successful one for both the adoptor and adoptee - guaranteeing that the pet has a stable, loving environment and the applicant receives a pet that will fit in well with their family and environment, so that both can enjoy a long, happy and rewarding relationship.

Therefore the complexity of the adoption application is designed to benefit of both the pet and the applicant. And we believe that if the applicant is a conscientious person who truly has a desire to find the perfect pet for them, they will not only understand the reasoning, but will even appreciate the thoroughness of our adoption form.

Services We Offer

If you bring your existing pets to one of our Mobile Adoption Events, we can microchip them for you. Or, if you have an indoor only kitten or cat, we can apply Soft Paws Nail Caps - which are a wonderful new alternative to the inhumane declawing practice and solve the same problem. All proceeds from these services go directly to our rescue animals.
